Online Project - Discovering YOUR Place in History

I. Your Toys

Take a trip down memory lane--you'll get a kick out of this site.

On the day you were born you were probably given toys by those who loved you. This site should helpyou recall some of your earliest toys.

We've included several sites you can visit to find this information. You (or your teacher) can decide which one gives you the best information.

Instructions for the first two sites (A. & B.):
1. Scroll down the page and click on a toy you remember
2. Read the info & record it in your own words

A. If you were born during the 1980's this works well:

Click on the mouse to see popular toys of the 1980s
In the 80s

After you record this information in your handout, hit the Back button to return to our website.

B. If you were born during the 1990's this works well:

Click on the mouse to find what was on T.V. when you
were born

In the 90s

After you record this information in your handout, hit the Back button to return to our website.

C. This is will give you a timeline for toys from 4000 B.C. to 1993. Here are the instructions:
Move along the timeline and estimate where the information you need falls, then click. If you wind up WAY out of the range of years you're researching then hit the 'Back' button and try again in a different spot.

You won't find info on the EXACT DATE you're researching--maybe no even the EXACT YEAR you're looking for. Go for the closest one.

Record the information (in your own words) for the
YEAR OR YEAR CLOSEST to the date you are researching.

Can't find what you need for this section of the project? Google it! Click inside the box, type in a keyword or words & click on 'Search'. To return to our website, click on the baby you'll see after you search.

Ask your mother or grandmother...
if they played this one. This is an audio clip from a TV ad in the 60's for a game called 'Mystery Date'--very politically incorrect.
