2nd Quarter - Week 10 -Word Processing - Create Folder, Save work to Folder, Copy, Cut, Paste

Review--how to make a folder & and how to save work to your folder

Review--how to open a file (from a flppy disk) on a different computer

Copy and Paste:

1. Click the mouse where you want to start copying, keep the button down, drag the curser to where you want to end copying, and release the mouse button.
Whatever you want to copy will be highlighted blue.
2. Click on 'Edit' (at the top left hand corner of the screen), slide down and click on 'Copy'.
3. Go to & click where you want to insert this information.
4. Click on 'Edit' (at the top left hand corner of the screen), slide down and click on 'Paste'.

Cut and Paste:
Same as above except use 'Cut' instead of 'Copy'.
Whatever information you cut will disapear from the page.

Some shortcuts:
To copy and paste--Instead of #2 (above) hold down the 'Ctrl' key and hit the 'C' letter key. Then instead of #4 hold down the 'Ctrl' key and hit the 'V' letter key.
or
Instead of #2 (above) RIGHT click, then slide and click on 'copy'. Then instead of #4 RIGHT click, then slide and click on 'paste'

To cut and paste--Instead of #2 (above) hold down the 'Ctrl' key and hit the 'X' letter key. Then instead of #4 hold down the 'Ctrl' key and hit the 'V' letter key.
or
Instead of #2 (above) RIGHT click, then slide and click on 'cut'. Then instead of #4 RIGHT click, then slide and click on 'paste'

To copy an entire document--Go the 'Edit' and click on 'Select All' or Right click and slide down to 'Select All'.

OBJECTIVE/TOPIC:

1. To create a desktop folder, save and name a file, copy and paste, cut and paste,  and multi-task.

 La. Performance Indicator 3. Technology Productivity Tools : Compose and edit a multi-page document with appropriate formatting using word-processing skills. (e.g., menu, tool bars, dialog boxes, spell check, thesaurus, page layout, headers and footers, word count, margins, tabs, spacing, columns, page orientation)  


2. To create a document which includes a gif or jpeg found a cited from the Internet.

 La. Performance Indicator # 6. Basic Operations and Concepts: Demonstrate the operations of a computer (e.g., touch-keyboarding skills, save, organize and back-up files) and other peripheral devices (scanner, digital and video cameras, VCR, laser disc player) at an intermediate level.


PROCEDURE:

1. Lecture -- 'Multi-tasking, Copy/paste, cut/paste. create folder, save/name files.

2.. Hands on -- Create a document with an image/save to folder.
